All Support Staff at Community Connection are employed on a 'casual' basis. This means there are regular hours per week however not full time hours - ideally this is suited for someone who is seeking a supplementary income.

Lifestyle Assistants at Community Connection, only work for the one person; this means that candidates would only apply for the one position as the recruitment process is highly focused on the right match between the Lifestyle Assistant and the person receiving support.
Monday: 2PM – 6PM
Tuesday: 3PM – 6PM
Wednesday: 2PM – 6PM
Saturday: 3 PM – 6PM
Sunday: 4PM – 6PM
16 hrs. per week 32 fortnight
Gross fortnightly wage- $908.64
This position involves support to a 23 year old person with Autism who does not communicate verbally. The successful candidate will assist with community inclusion and exploring opportunities for the person to have a life is inclusive and driven by the individual's unique choices. Must be willing to assist the person to try new things and have a great amount of patience. Ability to provide personal care and help with cooking and domestic needs is a core part of this role.
Hours of Work are:
Monday 1:30pm to 4:30pm (3hrs)
Tuesday 3:30pm to 5:00pm (1.5hrs)
Wednesday 2:30 to 5:00pm (2.5hrs)
Saturday 12.00 noon to 5:00pm (4hrs)
Your gross fortnightly wage would be $615.44 for work that is 11 hours per week.
The position involves support to a 41 year old person with a disability to assist with access in the Townsville community. The person lives in a remote area south of Townsville therefore all supports would be provided in Townsville and preferably the successful applicant's home. The weekly routine would include swimming and attending appointments plus broadening opportunities f to have the best life possible. To be successful for this position the candidate must have excellent people skills. an extremely positive attitude and be able to assist with all aspects of personal care.
Working with a 15 year old on the Autism Spectrum to help with life skills and preparation for leaving school and finding work
Teaching and mentoring Safety in the community Using a phone Catching a bus Banking and finances Shopping Work concepts including preparing a CV, interview techniques Role modelling in the community
Monday 2 hrs at $26.08 = $52.16
Friday 2 hrs at $26.08 = $52.16
Weekly wage for 4 hrs is $104.32
Working with a lovely mature gentleman who communicates non verbally and is in a wheelchair to help with cleaning of his unit (including birds and bird cages,) life skills, appointment making, shopping, social interactions, etc.
